PPES is facilitating the creation of a society in which women have an
equal share in the continual growth of their country. How? By providing
an education that allows women to become economic and socially
enlightened. This, in turn, will create a society in which all children
will have an opportunity to grow to their fullest potential.
This is social empowerment and economic empowerment. But most
importantly, it's gender empowerment.
PPES provides girls with both a value-based education and vocational
skill training. But what makes it unique is that it provides incentives
for families to send their girls to school - including paying each girl
ten rupees per day.
From an initial enrollment of 45 girls from the poorest families of
the area, PPES now has 996 girls. Our ultimate objective is to educate,
provide job training, and offer jobs to at least one daughter of each of
the 50,000 poor families of Anupshahar.
