Paper Preeti Visits the World

PPES started a new program, 'Paper Preeti', that allows its students to see the world through the eyes of people all around the world.

Twenty PPES students created a paper doll ("Paper Preeti") with a brief background written on the back. The Paper Preetis were then mailed to participants throughout the globe, who will 'show' Paper Preeti their favorite part of town. The participant will take a picture with Paper Preeti, upload it to a website, and then forward her on to a new part of the world.

PPES students had a great time making the Paper Preetis, and are excited at the prospect of seeing 'themselves' pictured in different parts of the world. Below are a few stories from friends of Paper Preeti across the world.

Want to Show a PPES Student the World? Email us at info@pardadapardadi.org with your name and address, and we'll send you a Paper Preeti. Then, take a picture with her in your favorite location and email it with a brief description to hours80close@photos.flickr.com The pictures will be automatically posted onto our Flickr Account

Forward your Paper Preeti on to a friend or family member so that Paper Preeti can see more of the world! Also, make sure to check out our website and our Flickr Account to see the travels of other Paper Preetis throughout the world.
Macey Shows Bhavna Around Wellington, New Zealand

Hi Bhavna,

My name is Macey Caughley, and I am nearly 7 years old. I am a year 2 student in Room 5 at my local school, Muritai School, Eastbourne. My dad Marty took this photo of me with your Paper Preeti outside our house in Point Howard, Eastbourne, Wellington. I am enjoying the sun on the old seat my dad made out of old fence-posts from my grandparents' old farm. It is winter here, so has been raining lots & snowing in some places. The sign behind me says "The road to the house of a friend is never long" because you have to walk up & down through forest to get to my house!

Some of my favourite things are running cross-country, playing soccer, reading books and writing stories, and playing with my friends.

Bye,

Macey

Munne Meets Elaine and Annie, Irish Heritage Dancers in Chicago

Dear Munne

Our names are Elaine Tracy and Annie Tracy. We are sisters - Elaine is 8 years old and Annie is 5 years old. We live right outside of Chicago in a town called Western Springs. It's in a state called Illinois - it's right on Lake Michigan which is one of the Great Lakes.

We celebrate our Irish Heritage by dancing. We wear traditional costumes and dance to traditional music. Here is a picture of us with you in our costumes. We also took a picture with our friend Maeve!

After we took off our costumes, we went to a restaurant for lunch. Here is a picture of us at lunch as well as a picture of you with Chicago Cubs flag. That's our favorite baseball team!

We will be going to see fireworks this weekend then we'll go to an amusement park where we'll take you on a rollercoaster! We'll send those pictures in a few weeks.

We hope you are well and we'll write soon!

It's right on Puget Sound, and it's a great place to look at art, walk the dogs, and enjoy the sunshine. Here you are relaxing in one of the many colorful chairs in the park while my dogs Dahlia (a girl) and Sofa (a boy) hang out in the background.
