Meet Kajal

A caring girl who wants to help others, Kajal's life has been more difficult than some. Her mother has been ill, and her father, an unskilled worker, has been forced to move to Delhi, since no job opportunities exist in Anupshahar. Kajal lives with her mother and three siblings in their one-room home in Anupshahar.

Despite struggles at home, Kajal makes sure to come to school. Her favorite subject is Hindi, and she loves singing songs. Her goal is to obtain a job that will give her enough money to take care of her mother and family. Even now, she uses what little money she has to buy gifts for her mother.
