During January, each year in Parents' Day Ceremony, PPES announces how many new girls will be accepted for the following academic year beginning June 1st. All girls between the ages of 3-14 from the surrounding villages are eligible to apply.

Girls come to the school and receive assistance on filling out their application forms. The school then gives them a receipt with their roll number and informs them of an interview date.

The application forms help PPGVS determine whether a girl is qualified for entrance to the school. Generally, a girl must come from a family that earns less than 600 rupees/month (US $ 13.3).

The interviews allow PPGVS admissions staff to establish how much interest the girl and her parents express in the style of education PPGVS embodies. The top performing girls are selected and informed of their admission. They are also given a medical exam to determine if they have any medical complications. All possible assistance is provided to children with special needs

Throughout the initial three weeks of school, the newly admitted students undergo tests and trainings to decide which educational class and vocational skill would fit best. Those who are completely illiterate begin in Class nur- class III ( depending on the age). Girls who have slightly more advanced knowledge start in Class IV. During the fourth week, final adjustments are made and by July 1^st everyone starts the regular PPGVS program. In order to ensure the students excel in the skills required to pass each Class, PPGVS has no summer or winter vacations.
